The Huntington Glee Club was organized almost 90 years ago as a High School Male Chorus at Huntington High School. Most of its members are not in school anymore but the tradition started then and continues today.
Its members come from all walks of life; farmers, miners, cattlemen, business men, teachers, students, craftsmen, and retired men. The only thing in common is their love of singing. They come from several of the towns of Emery County. In the recent past some have come from Carbon County also.
Practice has been held on Tuesday night at 8:30 for many years at the Huntington LDS Stake Center. There has always been an open invitiation to any other men in the area to join the group.
The president of the Glee Club is Hal Nielson. Hal, who has been president since 1991, is the son of one of the original members Ted R. Nielson, who also served as president for a time. This group is a service organization that performs anywhere they are invited, if possible. Bryce Wilson has been the director of the glee club for about 40 years and is the arranger of many of the songs performed. Annette Cook has served as accompanist for several years.
The Huntington Glee Club has performed in over 250 programs since 1991. The performances have ranged from 2-3 members to a full hours program. Two annual fireside programs have been presented by the Glee Club for a number of years: the Huntington HEritage Days Fireside and the Christmas Program in conjunction with a Women’s Choir.

Heritage activities will include: July 3-Mecca bike ride Pet show at 4 p.m. Idol contest and Al Shakespaere at 5 p.m. ATV ride at 5 p.m. Ice Cream social and dessert contest at 7 p.m.
July 4-flag ceremony at 6 a.m. and fun run at 6 a.m. Breakfast at 7 a.m. and kids parade at 9:30 a.m. Parade at 10 a.m. Patriotic program at noon. Entertainment including Station Hollow and T-Minus 5 from 1-4 p.m. Big toys, booths, food all day. Kid rodeo at 7 p.m. 3 on 3 tournament at 4 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.
