On Saturday, the Millsite Men’s Association and the Emery County Recreation teamed up to host a golf tournament at Millsite Golf Course. More than 60 golfers participated in the 18 hole event.
Miss Emery Karrie Johansen also used the tournament to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. Johansen and the contestants for Miss Emery 2008 welcomed the contestants and served them dinner as they finished the round.
Winners were announced during the lunch. The format for the event was a four person scramble and each player could take one mulligan during the 18 holes.
Winning first place with a score of 58 was the team of Shannon Hiatt, Jayson Hiatt, Jim Jones and Chandler Pearson. Second place went to the team of Jeff Winget, Tony Pinedo, Jordan Pinedo, and Ryan Pinedo with a score of 59. With a score of 60, the team of Jerry Mangus, Kevin Burrell, Gus Mangus and Tim Dison came in third.
Dave Sebring of Ace Auto and Trailer Sales, and Huntsman Motors, both of Huntington put up a trailer and a truck and trailer as prizes which could be won for a hole in one on #5 or #7 hole.
Some of the golfers came close, but no one went home with a new trailer.
CJ McManus won a new driver and Tracy Pederson had the winning number to take home the new putter. The driver was donated by Sebring and the putter was donated by the Millsite Men’s Association.
