Riders For Santa


The annual Riders for Santa ride will be held Nov. 8. in Stewart’s parking lot in Castle Dale at 10 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring a toy to be donated. The ride will begin with the first leg of the ride going to Orangeville for hot drinks and doughnuts. Weather permitting, the ride will continue to Green River.

Junior Jazz Sign-ups


The last day to sign up for Junior Jazz is Nov. 7. Sign up at Emery County Recreation building at 75 South 400 East in Castle Dale. Any questions call Cindy at 748-2235.

Stitches From The Heart


Stitches From the Heart need volunteers to knit, crochet, or quilt blankets, little sweaters and hats for babies in need. These items are donated to hospitals all over the country. Huntington City Turkey Trot


Huntington City’s annual turkey trot run will be held Thanksgiving morning at 9 a.m. All who wish to participate should meet at the City Park on Center Street. The entry fee is $1. There will be a children’s race and a 5K. The winner will receive a turkey.

Huntington City Christmas Celebration


Huntington City’s Christmas celebration will be held Dec. 5 at Huntington Elementary. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. with a program at 7 p.m. Everybody is welcome.

Town Council Meeting


The Emery Town Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 (Veteran’s Day) at the community Center located at 76 North 100 West in Emery. There will be a ceremony to honor all Veterans and refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend.

Know Before You Go


An ATV permit test will be held Nov. 6 at the Old Courthouse located at 75 E. Main, Castle Dale at 7 p.m. for ages 8-16 to be legal to drive on public lands. You must pre-register at the Emery County Recreation office located at 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale, by Nov. 4.

The Second Annual Free Family Night


Nov. 12 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Emery High School. Agenda:dinner and information booths from 5-6:30 p.m. Breakout session 1 from 6:45-7:30 p.m. Breakout session 2 from 7:45-8:30 p.m. This will be an evening dedicated to your family, fullof information booths with free items, activities, free dinner and informative sessions… so don’t miss out.

Festival of Trees


The 38th annual Festival of Trees to benefit Primary Childrens Hospital will be held Dec. 3-6 at the South Towne Expo Center, 9575 South State Street, Sandy from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. For more information visit www.festivaloftreesutah.org.

Free Compost


The city of Ferron will be giving away free compost Nov. 6 at the fairgrounds from 9a.m.-12 noon (first come- first served). A back hoe service will assist those that need trucks loaded. Sponsored by the Beautification and Fairgrounds Committee. For more details: City Hall at 384-2350

Emery High School Plays


Watch for future productions. Man of La Mancha is Nov. 20-22, in January, more beginning drama plays, in February, Snoopy will be presented, and in May, a yet unnamed play will be given.

Emery County History Books for Christmas


The book “A History of Emery County” will be available for only $6 until Christmas. Pick up what you need at the Pioneer Museum in Castle Dale, the Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale, or the John Wesley Powell River History Museum in Green River. For more information call Sylvia at 687-9184.

Christmas Festival


A Christmas Festival will be held at the Emery Recreation Center on Nov. 7-8. On Nov. 7 it will be from 1-8 p.m. and on Nov. 8 it will be from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. For more information contact Jodi Magnuson at 381-2222 or Shandy Magnuson at 749-2574. There will be food, booths and entertainment.
