HUNTINGTON – John E. Bissell, age 60, passed away in Ferron, Utah, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009. John was born April 6, 1948 in Wilshire, Ohio, to Edwin O. and Geneva Mae (Bostrom) Bissell.
John worked for the Emery County School District and was active with the Emery High School sporting events. He enjoyed watching BYU sports, traveling to see his children, grandchildren, and sisters. His love for his community and church gave him a lot of joy in his life. John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
John is survived by his children: Kalinda Jerasa, of Quakertown, Pa., Jim (Elisabeth) Bissell, of Collegeville, Pa., Jason Bissell of San Diego, Calif., Martha (James) Machiano of Bernville, Pa., and Michael Bissell of Cope Coral, Fla.; nine grandchildren, and sisters: Nancy Kienbaum of Whitewater, Wis., and Mary (Douglas) Krenik of Cleveland, Minn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Geneva Bissell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Fifth Ward Chapel (115 South 400 East-Huntington, Utah). A viewing will be held Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, Utah (720 North Center Street) and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
