Homecoming at Green River High started out on Monday with an alumni basketball game. Seventeen men arrived at the gym to play in the alumni game and their graduations dated from 1979-2008. The alumni cheerleaders were fewer in number, there were only seven of them.
Tuesday the girls traveled to Duchesne to play basketball and they had a disapointing night with the Eagles beating them 44-34.
On Friday the Pirates hosted the Monticello Buckaroos the Lady Pirates beat the Buckaroos 46-28. Outscoring them in every quarter 13-8, 13-6, 8-5, and 12-9. Brandi Webster led the Pirates with 15, Courtney Carter and Cady Mecham were both in double figures with 12 and 10. Lindsey Spadafora made the only 3-pointer on the game and had five, Sarah Swalberg and Crosby Hatt both added two to the scoreboard.
The Pirate boys team didn’t fare quite as well, they fell just short 46-49 at the final buzzer. They kept it close in the first and third quarters and outscored the Bucks in the second, but is just wasn’t enough to get the win. Quarter scores were: 10-11, 13-9 15-17, and 8-12. Brennan Bigelow made four 3-pointers for 12, Kayden Mecham added 11, making one 3-pointer. Tyson Johnson was also in double figures with 10. Justin Johnson added five with one 3- pointer and Jason Johnson and Holden Marshall each had four points.

Sophomore Attendants – Holden Marshall and Melissa Antillon. Freshmen Attendants – Jordan Olsen and Megan Hatt. Junior High Attendants – Andrew Christensen and Felisha Antillon.
