GREEN RIVER-Our beloved Dorothy returned home to her Father in Heaven, her loving husband and faithful family on Feb. 15, 2009 at 3:30 a.m. She was a blessing to her family for 97 wonderful years. She was loved and cared for by the wonderful nurses and CNA’s at the Ferron Nursing Center when she left her earthly home.
Her funeral service will be at the LDS church in Green River on Feb. 21, 2009. The viewing will be held at 1 p.m. immediately followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Elgin Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in Green River, Utah on June 6, 1911 to Effie and Howard Hastings. She had four siblings that she loved dearly especially her little brother Tommy(Vera)Hastings. She met her high school sweetheart when she was playing basketball for Green River. She soon realized that John Franklin Ross was the love of her life and married him on Dec. 22, 1930. Dorothy and Frank had three sons and one daughter who were cherished by their mother. Arnold Jack (deceased) and Jackie, Jon Kent and Georgia, Howard Clark and Gene, and Dorothy Ann Carter. She left a posterity of 25 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 49 great-great grandchildren. Grandma Ross was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
