FERRON-Norma Powell Tandy, age 79, passed away Feb. 14, 2009. She was born Dec. 25, 1929 to Jesse and Hazel Powell in Green River, Utah.
Norma graduated from the University of Utah with an R.N. Degree. She worked as the head registered nurse at Lassen Medical Group in Red Bluff, Calif. for 30 years. As a faithful member of the LDS church throughout her life, she held many leadership positions and served three missions for the church. Norma also worked at the Oakland Temple and, for the past 10 years, at the Manti Temple.
She was full of spirit and enjoyed playing pranks. Norma loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to teach and to dance.
Norma is survived by her four children: Janeice Dean of Orangevale, Calif., Charles (Debbie) Tandy of Washington City, Utah, Debbie (Geoff) Dunn of Redding, Calif., and Diane (David) Guerrero of Kingston, Wash.; three siblings: John (Joyce) Powell of Green River, Utah, Molly (Easton) Scovill of Ferron, Utah, and Jesse (Jackie) Powell of Richfield, Utah; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Eda May Powell.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Elgin Cemetery in Green River. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
