PRICE/SALT LAKE CITY- Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Red Snyder passed away Feb. 23, 2009 at Highland Cove Retirement surrounded by his family and best friend Adrian after a courageous battle with Parkinsons.
He was born July 14, 1926 in Dora, Ala. to Stacy and Perlie Creel Snyder.
Red married his true love and soul mate, Hazel Milano, in September of 1951. She preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2005.
Red served in the Navy Sea Bees during World War II. He also worked as a coal miner, mine inspector, and electrician.
The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Adrian Rojos, who was his special friend and angel to him the last four years. We will forever be grateful for all the love and care Adrian has given our loved one. We would also like to thank all the staff at Highland Cove, especially Tammy and Elizabeth for their love and support. Thanks to Meriadid who was with him that last five months and took such good care of him.
Survived by his daughter, Bette Jo Chavez, Salt Lake City, son, Frank (Winnie) Walker, Indianapolis; brothers, Joe and James Snyder, California; sister, Marie Sersante, Colorado; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and six great- great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, brother Max, sister Lois; and special great-granddaughter Tiffany.
Funeral service, Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, 11 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, where friends are welcome daily.
