SPRING GLEN- Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Merry LaVange Mills, age 65, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 in Price. The morning sun shined brightly on her face as she was reunited with the loved ones who had passed on before her. LaVange fought a courageous battle with COPD for many years.
She was born May 24, 1943 in Salt Lake City to Vergel and Lila Draney.
Married Gary W. Mills Oct. 2, 1961 in Ely, Nev.
LaVange was the owner of Price Floral for several years and took great pride in her floral creations. She and Gary spent many summers with their children and friends boating in Lake Powell and camping throughout Utah. LaVange was a master gardener who could make anything bloom. She rejoiced every spring watching her tulips and daffodils emerge from the ground. Her utmost delight came from working tirelessly in her yard, grooming it to perfection and sharing “starts” with her family and friends.
Survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Mills; mother, Lila Draney-Busetto; children, Gary (Terri) Mills; Barry (Karon) Mills; Heather Mills; grandchildren, Geoggrey Mills; Daneesha Mills; Alexis Allard; Tonya Mills; Brandon Mills; Joshua Mills; Natasha Olsen; Zachary Garmann; Randi Garmann; great grandchildren, Emiliano; Torizella; Ignacio; Patrick; sisters, Linda (Karl) Kraync; Tawna (John) Magnuson; sister in law, Paula Draney; mother in law, Thusnelda Mills; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by her father, Vergel Draney; brother, Vergel Draney Jr.; father in law, Bill Mills; sister in law, Gaylene (Martin) Ballard; special friend, Judy Bruno.
Our family is eternally grateful for her unconditional love, guidance, understanding, and compassion shown to us throughout our lives. She will forever be in our hearts.
Graveside service, Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 1 p.m. Price City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell’s from 12-12:45 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, where friends are welcome daily.
