PRICE-Everett Eloy Romero, age 57, passed away March 14, 2009 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born Dec. 11, 1951 in Rifle, Colo. to Frank and Tina Martinez Romero.
Married Darlene Franco on Dec. 15, 1976 in Helper, Utah.
Everett was a graduate of Rifle High School Class of 1969. He honorably served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of the Price American Legion Post # 3, V.F.W. Miners Post # 2379, and the Cottonwood Elks Lodge in Murray.
While residing in Colorado and Utah, Everett worked in various coal mines. After his mining career, he continued working as a nurse at Castle Country Care Center in Price. Everett shared a deep appreciation for the outdoors and he especially enjoyed fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle with his family and friends. He loved cooking, listening to music, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Cristal Marie Romero, wife, Darlene Romero, sons, Mark (Tammy) Franco, Gabriel (Amy) Romero, grandchildren, Justice Franco, Romio Romero, Cynthia Franco, all of Price; brothers and sisters, Frank Romero, Rifle, Colo., Helen Jamison, Oregon, Arlene House, Rifle, Colo., Verna Sandy, Nevada, Danny Romero, Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leo Romero.
Funeral service on Thurs. March 19, 2009 at 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home.
