Volunteers of America Utah, RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and FGP (Foster Grandparent Program) held their Walk to Russia kick off party recently in Castle Dale and Green River. Seniors signed up and received pedometers to track their miles for the 11,096 mile walk to Russia and back.
Emery County Coordinator for RSVP and FGP, Betty Hatch says she is hoping to have more than 140 seniors participate in this years Walk to Russia.
They had logged 6,000 miles by June last summer, so they are very confident of being able to reach their goal of at least 11,096 miles.
