The Emery County Relay for Life recently held their 2009 kick-off party.
This year’s relay will be held on June 12-13. They have set a goal to raise $40,000 with high hopes of being able to raise $50,000. If every household in Emery County donated one dollar they would be able to exceed this goal.
They also hope to have at least 40 teams signed up for the relay. The cost to sign up a team is $100. Teams can have three-15 people on them.
They still have some committee positions open and are looking for volunteers to fill them.
This year’s luminary chair is Brenda Jensen. Anyone interested in purchasing luminaries should contact Brenda.
They are excited to have former senator and astronaut Jake Garn and former Miss Utah 2007 Heather Anderson, along with Hilary Gordon of Huntington as their keynote speakers.
