Doug Taylor of Emery and Mark Benson, owner of Gilly’s in Ferron, are sponsoring the Derryl Perry concert that will be held on May 30 at the Ferron Fairgrounds. This is a fund raiser for Dustin Hannabach, a fourth generation, Emery County, 9 year old boy. His great grandmother was Zona Anderson from Emery. Dustin contracted Osteosarcoma cancer in his hip and femur. He has undergone chemo therapy for almost three months and has required a blood transfusion. The surgery has been postponed due to some complications with the chemo. Along with the initial therapy he will have his entire femur bone replaced in late May and every four to five years until he is fully grown. Organizers said, “We hope that everyone can find a way to make it to the First Fairin’ Fandango and help the Hannabachs with this enormous expense. If you can’t make it for the Fair, please help any way you can. A non-profit fund has been set up to help the Hannabachs. The fund is set up as the Hannabach/Perry fund at Desertview Federal Credit Union in Ferron and Huntington.”
“Along with Tony Basso ATVs, toy haulers and accessories, all kinds of food vendors and crafters will be here throughout the day. There will be a free train ride for the kids, cotton candy and other rides are currently being arranged. All children 10 years and younger will be admitted free with a ticketed parent.
“Carl Potter of Pro Sound will be here during the day for open mike sessions and karaoke. He has an awesome Sound System and will be the main sound man for the Derryl Perry concert that starts at 7 p.m. Derryl’s band will play three one hour sets in an incredible live band performance and dance. Thanks to Randy Magnuson we will have quite a dance floor set up, so don’t forget your dancin’ shoes.
“Fingers the Fiddler will be performing his magic and will be available on a limited basis to back up groups for the jams” said organizers.
If you are interested in being a vendor or crafter, contact Doug at (435) 286-2375
Tickets are now on sale at Stewarts Market, Ace Hardware, Napa Auto Parts the State Liquor Store and Chicken’s Rock ‘n Roost, all in Castle Dale, Tony Basso ATV in Price, both of the Desertview Federal Credit Unions and from the Food Ranch in Orangeville.
Organizers said, “Please consider buying tickets for friends and relatives that might not be able to afford the fun. Again, let us stress how Dustin needs your help and we’ll take all the help we can get.
“Get a ticket and we will see you on May 30 at the Fairgrounds in Ferron and there will be entertainment all day,” said organizers.
