SCOFIELD-Santa Gorishek, age 98, of Scofield, Carbon County, Utah passed away on May 27, 2009 in Bountiful, Utah. Santa “Nonie” was born Aug. 7, 1910 in Scofield to Phillip and Celestina Bertoni Elardo. Married Louis F. Gorishek, Sept. 22, 1933 in Price; he passed away on Nov. 3, 1979. Santa and her husband owned and operated Gooses Mt. Tavern in Scofield where they made many life long friends. Even after she could no longer stay in Scofield by herself, Scofield to her was always home.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Louis (Penny) Gorishek, Louette (Bill) Page; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Phil Gorishek; sisters, Mae Nicolodemos, Catherine Rudman, Josephine Zuber, Madelyn Allred; and brother, Joseph Elardo.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides who cared for Santa, especially Kari. Funeral Mass, Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price, Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9-9:30 a.m. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
