John and Velma Ward

John and Velma Ward will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 7.
They were married on Aug. 7, 1959 in Pine Vale Christian Church, Marion Center, Penn.
John worked for telephone maintenance and as a cable-splicer. Velma worked in the office of Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company.
They moved to Utah in 1980 and John worked for Deer Creek Mine until he medically retired in 1993. Velma worked for the Senior Nutrition Program for 20 years. They make their home in Ferron.
They are the parents of two daughters: Shari (Mark) Allen and Jennifer Ward. They have three grandchildren: Amy Jo, Brock and Markita Allen.
Their children welcome you to celebrate with them at an open house BBQ on Aug. 8 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ferron Senior Citizens Center. No gifts expected.
