CARBONVILLE-Doyl Lavar Cloward, age 74, passed away August 1, 2009 at his home in Carbonville while surrounded by his family.
He was born April 19, 1935 in Price, Utah to Charles and Lillie Nelson Cloward.
Married Verla Haws, June 10, 1956 in Provo, Utah.
Doyl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a longtime resident of Carbon County where he wore many different hats in life. From his true passion as a farmer, working in the mines, owning and operating vending businesses, spending countless hours removing snow for many local businesses, and later retiring from the Carbon County Landfill. Doyl’s life definitely encompassed many areas, however his greatest pleasures came while farming for the Marsing and Jensen families.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with family and friends. He loved camping, hunting, playing horseshoes and attending black powder rendezvous. His tireless efforts and dedication to his family and work will be long remembered.
Survived by his wife, Verla Cloward, Carbonville; daughter, Gaylene (Ron) Burnett, Pine Haven, Wyoming; son, Clay (Kathy) Cloward, Rock Springs, Wyoming; brothers, Laron Cloward, Price, Dell Cloward, Price, Arthur (Chris) Heath, Tremonton, Utah; eight grandchildren, Kelly and Jessie Cloward, both of Price, Jeniffer Cloward, Salt Lake, Travis Burnett, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Don Burnett, Pine Haven, Wyoming, Ron (Melissa) Burnett, Jr., Salt Lake, Tiffany (Matthew) England, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Chelsey Cloward, Tempe, Arizona; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Guy Cloward; three brothers, Sharon and Elwood Heath, and Kendall Cloward; and infant great-grandson.
Funeral service, Thur., Aug. 6, 2009, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
