Mary Jensen, Spring Glen and Helper, celebrates her 90th birthday this year. A luncheon picnic will be held in her honor Aug. 8, 12 noon at Price City Park. Friends and family are welcome to come out and say happy birthday to Mary.
Family is important to Mary. Two sisters married two brothers while going to market for seed potato. Mary married Oliver, Jane married Howard and a large extended family grew from that seed potato trip. Mary and Oliver raised five children, John, June, Dick, Helen and Jim which lead to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
Mary’s family gatherings are whirlwinds of family and friends. In her younger years they were heralded by wafting aromas of her home made rolls and cinnamon rolls. Fresh baked breads will still be a feature at the party courtesy of Marsha’s Bake Shop and Nikki and Roger Pessetto (two of Mary’s grandchildren).
Her strong sense of family binds us together. Her pioneering spirit is an inspiration to us all.
