GREEN RIVER, UTAH-Prominent businessman Malcolm Frank Politano, age 87, passed away Aug. 6, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Green River. He was born March 24, 1922 in Green River, Utah to Malcolm Politano Sr., and Rose Vetere. He married his beloved Norma Francis Brock, Feb. 12, 1941 in Green River, Utah; she passed away on May 18, 2001.
Malcolm was a lifelong resident of Green River where he and his wife owned and operated the Texaco Service Station and Politano Foodland. He was a man of great strength, generosity, dedication and he kept the family legacy going by making sure that no one went hungry. He was an honest and tireless worker who spent countless hours providing for others. Malcolm believed in hard work and his motto was, “there is no such thing as rest”.
He had a great passion for horses, music, dancing and his acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
Malcolm is survived by his daughters, Charlotte (Robert) Williams, Teasdale, Utah, Mary Ann (Lynn) Olsen, Green River, Utah; sister, Florence Chido, Littleton, Colo; nieces, Barbara (Robert) Little, Sandy, JoAnn (Jim) Dawson, Littleton, Colo; five grandchildren, Bradley, Kenneth and Brian Williams, Brady Olsen and LeiAnn Chidester; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma; brothers, Charlie and Ernest; and sister, Ida Cornick.
Funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, 11 a.m., Green River Bible Church. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and at the church in Green River Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Elgin Cemetery, Green River, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily.
