PRICE-William Lee Schmidt, age 54, passed away suddenly Aug. 25, 2009 in Price.
He was born May 13, 1955 in Lancaster, Calif. to Frank Anthony and Beatrice Gillespie Schmidt.
On May 5, 1978, Billy married the love of his life Diane Birch in Elko, Nev.
Billy enjoyed working with his hands and some of his greatest accomplishments were the projects he worked on. His passion was operating equipment and for 14 years he worked at the CO-OP Mine as a heavy equipment operator.
Billy was a member of the Book Cliff Muzzleloaders Club and he enjoyed the black powder shoots. He was also a member of the Matt Warner Chapter #1900 E Clampus Vitus. Billy enjoyed the simpler things in life, whether it was fishing, hunting, caring for his pet fish or just barbecuing with his family. He truly enjoyed these experiences and he loved sharing them with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Schmidt, Price; two sons and two daughters, Rulen (Kim) Blackburn, Moab, Rulinda (Clint) Sanderson, William (Nicole) Schmidt, Brenda Schmidt, all of Price; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held, Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, 7 p.m., at the Pioneer Park in Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
