EAST CARBON-Louise Roybal, age 63, passed away Sept. 25, 2009, while vacationing in Maine.
She was born Aug. 28, 1946 in Price, Utah to Vincent and Lillie Medina.
Attended school in Price at Notre Dame and later graduated from Carbon High School. She worked for Carbon County where she later retired.
Married Frank J. Roybal Jr. Dec. 7, 1968 in Elko, Nev.; then later in the Good Shepherd Church in East Carbon, Utah.
Louise is survived by her loving husband Frank, East Carbon; daughter Frankie(Ned) Draper, Utah, son William “Bill”, East Carbon, daughter Jennifer (Tony) Price, Utah and son Brian, Houston, Texas, as well as her seven grandchildren, Nick, Anthony, Marcus, Jadyn, Madysen, Kameron and Vanessa.
Her brothers and sisters also survive her Cecilia(Victor) Mansanares Tooele, Utah, John Medina, Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Medina, Virginia, Evelyn (John) Montoya, Tooele, Utah, Henrietta (Willie) Slaton, Ruston, La., Pat (Dan) Schmidt, Grand Junction, Alice Miera, West Valley, Utah and Margie Valdez, Draper, Utah, as well as many countless nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Lillie, brothers Manuel and Raymond, brother-in-law Orlando “Poncho” Miera and nephews Stephen Bourque and Tony Aguayo.
Louise will be greatly missed by her family and a community of friends. Louise will be forever remembered as “Weezy”. She was an extraordinary person who was always very giving, generous and kind, always putting everyone before herself. She truly lived for her family. Her grandkids were the light of her life. Her husband was her rock and her soulmate. Her children her pride and joy, and she appreciated the joy and comfort of her beloved dog Nina.
Louise enjoyed the little things in life, like sitting on her front porch, whether rain or shine, visiting with family, neighbors and friends, or just taking a ride around town. Her faith in God helped sustain her throughout her life and through her illness. She never complained about being sick, always maintaining a brave front so she would not worry those she loved the most.
We will truly miss her and keep her forever in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. This is not goodbye, it just a simple thought and shows of our love and appreciation for you until we see your loving face again.
A rosary and mass was held in her honor Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church in East Carbon. The Mass was said on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. Committal service Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside.
The family would like to extend a special appreciation of thanks to Dr. Rich of Provo, and Dr.’s McArdle and Seder of Portland, as well as the nursing staff that cared for her while she was a patient at the Maine Medical Center. We appreciate the extra special care and attention that she received. We know that she was in good and capable hands.
