FERRON-Lucille E. Keim, age 90, passed away at the Emery County Care Center on Oct. 13, 2009, returning to her awaiting family members. She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Ainsworth, Neb. to Lee and Arlie Anderson.
She worked hard on the family farm and in a bakery as a teenager before marrying Dale Keim. She then worked as a telephone operator for several years before moving to Springville, Utah, where she and Dale later divorced. She worked for years as a waitress and dry-cleaner/presser until retiring.
Lucille loved to garden, can her own fruits and vegetables, make pieced quilts for her kids and grandkids, and she was an excellent cook. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Ferron Unit 42.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Red) Hess of Ferron; her son, Dave (Denise) Keim of Mapleton, Utah; grandsons: Jerry (Kandi) Hess of Ferron, and Kelly (Lori) Hess of Evanston Wyo., and Chad Keim of Mapleton, Utah; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Neola “Bode” Sorey and Doris Hughes, both of Ainsworth Neb.; and a brother, Neil (Garnett) Anderson of Long Pine, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne Anderson and Alfred “Bub” Anderson; and a sister, Ione Schroeder.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale (720 North Center Street). There was a viewing Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, from 6-7 p.m. at the mortuary and on Monday at 10 a.m. prior to the services also at the mortuary. Interment was in at Ferron City Cemetery.
