Milton “Bland” Tuttle

ORANGEVILLE-On a beautiful fall day, our husband, father, and grandfather, Milton Bland Tuttle, slipped peacefully from this world into the next surrounded by his wife and children.
Bland was born in Orangeville, Utah, on Nov. 27, 1923, to Milton Melrose and Essie Mable Tuttle. He married his sweetheart, Selma Sitterud, for time and all eternity in the Manti LDS Temple on Sept. 16, 1943, and they shared 66 years together. Together they had three sons, 10 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bland was a member of the LDS church and had a firm and unwavering faith and testimony of the gospel and of his Savior Jesus Christ. He served in many church calling including bishop, ward clerk, and stake clerk. Bland was proud to have served in the Manti LDS Temple with his wife for 13 years as an Ordinance Worker and Sealer, and had the privilege of sealing many of his grandchildren for time and all eternity.
Bland loved to tinker and could fix anything. He was strong and hard working. He put his shoes on in the morning, worked hard all day, and only took them off when it was time to go to bed. Bland shared a farm with his twin brother Blaine, and they worked side by side until Blaine’s passing in 2007. Bland was honest and trustworthy, always willing to lend a hand and help whenever he could. He worked in the coal mining industry in Emery and Carbon counties for 43 years, and was a member of the UMWA.
Bland loved his family and spending time with them. We will all miss the fun times we had sitting on the patio or around the kitchen table.
Bland is survived by his wife, Selma; three sons: Paul (Charlene) Tuttle of Kaysville, Kevin (Karen) Tuttle and Mark (Dickcie) Tuttle, both of Orangeville; and one sister, Gloria (Norman) Patterson of Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: (infant brother) Roy Dean, Edwin, and twin brother, Blaine; and one grandson, Trever Tuttle.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville LDS Church (45 West 100 South). There will be a viewing Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, and on Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
