PRICE-Fannie Austin Egger Johnson, age 79 passed away Oct. 29, 2009 in Price, Utah. She was born on Sept. 7, 1930 to Homer Austin and Virgie Mae Cowan Egger in Bixby, Okla. Fannie married Ronald Ellis Johnson on Jan. 14, 1950 in Hiawatha, Utah.
Fannie was one of 11 children, she spent her younger years in Oklahoma and Kansas City before moving to Hiawatha, Utah, where she met and married Ronald E. Johnson. Later they moved to Southern California, where they raised three children and lived for 30 years before returning to Price in 1972.
She worked as a garment presser for Korets for 11 years. Fannie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed needle work, quilting, crocheting and all crafts. She loved the outdoors especially the family picnics and going to the desert with the family. She also liked gardening, especially her roses and peonies.
Fannie will be remembered as a loving, caring, selfless individual who always put others needs before her own. Her family was the joy of her life especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Carl Michael (Kathy) Johnson of Renton, Wash., Linda Faye Mellinger of Renton, Wash., and Ronald Eugene Johnson of Price, Utah, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, siblings: Mildred Ferell Egger Montgomery of Henderson, Nev., James Geron (Lois) Egger of Redondo Beach, Calif., Maudie Lorene Alexander (Gerald) Brundage of Grand Junction, Colo., Joseph Leon (Margaret) Alexander of Inverness, Fla., Josephine Mae Alexander (Arnold) Rowley of Price, Utah, Douglas E. Alexander of Vernal, Utah, and Mary Paulene Alexander (Doug) Olsen of Wellington, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, a brother Homer Carl Egger Jr., and two infant siblings.
Funeral services were on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Price 11th Ward Chapel (300 West 500 South-Price). There was a viewing Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 6-8 p.m. and also Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior the services at the church. Interment was in the Price City Cemetery.
