PRICE-William “Dave” Price, age 74, passed away Nov. 10, 2009 in Price after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. He was born June 26, 1935 in Irran, Texas to William R and Edith Potts Price.
Married Jan Clegg, March 15, 1986 in Price, Utah.
Dave’s first love in life was flying and he was an excellent pilot and instructor. His passion for the outdoors enabled him to spread his wings and touch many students, friends and special acquaintances over the years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing poker and the guitar. For a number of years he played locally with the Ghost Riders.
Dave worked construction for H.E. Lowdermilk and W.W. Clyde where he was highly respected by all. After working construction he was later employed with Western Coal where his handle on the radio was “Dirty Dave”. He was dedicated to his work and he was an active member of the United Mine Workers of America. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Price; his loving family, Rick (Deena) Stockburger, Price, Dana Sartor, Salt Lake City, Ted (Julie) Stockburger, Fort Collins, Colo., Dori (John) Lee, Sommerset, Colo., Valrie (Dean) McCall, Montrose, Colo., Sean (Jennifer) Sinner, Alaska, Melissa Stockburger, Price; sister, Jeanie Price, Bloomfield, N.M.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Bob and Charlie.
A celebration of life was held, Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. at the Greenwell Convention Center, 655 East Main Street in Price.Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
