Letter to the editor: Happy with local service by mortuary

By Kathy Johnson Renton Wash.

Editor:
I am sincerely hoping this letter can be printed in your newspaper to honor a local business. Our family lost a loved one (my mother-in-law Fannie Johnson) last Thursday. My husband and I and my sister-in-law live in Seattle and traveled to Price, Utah to meet up with my brother-in-law to begin the very difficult task of preparing a funeral for their last surviving parent. I’ve lost a parent and know the type of service you usually receive when going through making funeral arrangements. I believe funeral directors go through the motions and are helpful in completing what needs to be done but lack personal involvement. A relative of ours suggested Fausett Mortuary in Price and I was absolutely amazed when our family gathered together and met with Steve Furner, the funeral director on Friday morning.
He started out by asking simple questions about our mother and he just sat and listened intently to our ramblings about her, our favorite stories, our aging memories on names of relatives, etc. He didn’t hurry us along, it seemed we spent hours just letting us reminisce our times with her.
He was truly interested in all we had to say. In all our years of others serving us, we have never received such personal, compassionate, and loving assistance in all that we needed to accomplish. We made many last minute changes and nothing seemed too much for Steve Furner and Michael Furner whom both helped us tremendously through a very trying time.
They went beyond the call of duty and that service will never be forgotten by the Johnson family.
