HELPER-Charlene Palacios, age 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at home after an extended illness, with her husband, children and brother by her side.
Charlene was born March 30, 1923 in Durango, Mexico to Seferino Gonzales andMaria Rodriquez. She married Pete Palacios on April 20, 1945.
Charlene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a talent for making friends and really enjoyed conversing with everyone she met. A cup of coffee and friendly conversation was always on the table at her home. Charlene was an excellent cook and avid reader. She shared these hobbies readily with her children. She also taught her children the value of hard work. Her faith in God and the Holy Rosary carried her through her last months.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 64 years Pete; her children, Madalyn T. Palacios, Pete M. Palacios, and David S. Palacios; her brothers, Marcellino (Betty Gene), Jesse (Joyce), Tony (Jona), Tom, and sisters Juanita Reed Bachman, Carmel (John Palacios), and Severina Miller. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Seferino and Marie Gonzales; her brother Mariano (Meano), sister, Gloria Lovato; and her youngest son Anthony Paul (Totes) Palacios.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Community Nursing Services, especially her angels Angie Fausett and David Gurule.
Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 10 a.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper, Utah. The vigil service was held Friday evening 7 p.m., at the church in Helper. Committal service, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
