PRICE-Our loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, Shirley Rae Brundage Downard, age 77, passed away Dec. 16, 2009 in Price.
She was born Jan. 28, 1932 in Price to George Samuel and Nellie Carr Brundage.
Married Glen Elwood Downard on April 25, 1952 in Elko, Nev. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away on March 30, 2005.
Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Shirley loved visiting with people, especially while working at Sherald’s in Price and the Vetere’s Melon Stand in Green River. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with her family.
Survived by her sons, Bill (Wendi) Downard, Castle Dale, Utah; Douglas (Carla) Downard, Green River, Utah; special daughter, Gloria Yazzie, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, daughter Donna Irene Jackson, granddaughter Misti Downard and step-brother George Brundage.
Funeral service Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, 1 p.m., Price Stake Center, 150 South 500 East, Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening 6-8 p.m., and Saturday at the church one hour prior to service. Interment Price City Cemetery, Price.
