San Rafael Junior High choirs presented the 2009 Winter Concert Dec. 17, 2009.
The director was Hans Baantjer with accompanist Eileen Lofthouse.
The evening program began with Spencer Fauver introducing a quartet to sing the Star Spangled Banner. They were Savannah Woolsey, Mariah Behling, Marilyn Malan and Jaicelyn Shakespaere.
This was followed by the beginning choir made up of seventh grade students. They sang “We’re Gonna Make Music”, “Guided By A Star”, “Seasons Change” and “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel”.
The boys choir songs included a short skit around the song “Jamaica Farewell” with Director Baantjer dressed up like Ramsey Shapero and Jared Shakespaere dressed as a Jamaican dancer. They both danced to the music. Their songs included “American Folk Rhapsody”, “Charlotte- Town”, “Jamaica Farewell”, and “Hand Me Down My Silver Trumpet”.
The girls choir sang “Come Again, Sweet Love,” Promised Land,” “Answer To A Child’s Question,” all great songs. The most memorable song was “The Twelve Days After Christmas.”
The combined choirs made up the concert choir and they sang “Sing Jubilate Deo,” “Behold a Tiny Baby,” “Bethlehem Halleluia” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
