The Emery County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the death of three cows near Huntington. The incident took place around Thanksgiving when three cows belonging to Huntington rancher Dan Hunter, were discovered dead in a pasture near Nielson Construction on North Loop Road near Huntington.
The three cows were found dead and died under suspicious circumstances. It is believed they died by wounds inflicted by a rifle. The animals were found in a pasture behind Wayne Nielson’s house.
The Emery County Sheriff’s Office would like to talk to anyone knowing anything about this incident. Callers can remain anonymous please call 381-2404 with information and ask for Det. John Barnett.
Emery County Sheriff LaMar Guymon said, “We find these types of crimes to be very offensive. The needless killing of animals is uncalled for and we would like to apprehend those responsible for this incident. These cows are the livelihood for these ranchers. They sell these animals to earn a living and it creates a hardship for the owner and it’s a waste.”
