Emery wrestlers attend super regionals in Cedar City

The Delta Rabbits dominated the south 3-A super-regional held in Cedar City last week and will send 26 wrestlers to the 3-A state tournament this week at Utah Valley University. The tournament runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Delta scored 837 points to far outdistance Canyon View that finished second with 453 points.
Wasatch squeaked by Morgan in the north regional by a score of 368 to 361.5. Delta so dominated the meet that they actually finished first and second in 125 lb, 130 lb and 135 lb.
Emery will send six wrestlers to the state tournament this week after these six all finished in the top eight in the dual regional tournament. Clay Collard had the best Emery finish, as he was third in the 160 lb weight class.
Jace Guymon finished fifth at 152 lb, Spencer Fehlberg was sixth at 112 lb, Cort Jensen was seventh at 140 lb, Keith Bird was eighth at 140 lb and Chet Funk was seventh at 152 lb. Clay finished the season with a 32-9 record and will wrestle Brock Garn of Juan Diego who has a 25-18 record. Jace finished the season with a 20-10 record and will wrestle Drew Hart of Grantsville that has a 28-17 record. Spencer finished the season with a 22-10 record and will wrestle Adam Aino of Morgan who has a 27-16 record.
Cort finished with an 18-12 record and will wrestle Bryce Provost of Wasatch who finished with a 16-25 record. Chet finished with a 17-13 record and will wrestle Teddy Hackford of Wasatch who finished with a 41-11 record. Keith finished the season with 7-21 record and will wrestle Cole Hunt of Carbon who has a 35-3 record.
