PRICE- Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Thelma Mae Brinkerhoff Jewkes, age 83, returned to Our Heavenly Father on Feb. 12, 2010 in Price while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 19, 1926 in Huntington, Utah to Robert and Elsie Powell Brinkerhoff.
She met her sweetheart, Richard G. Jewkes, while serving in the Texas-Louisiana Mission and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on Nov. 8, 1950.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities including, Primary President, Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School Teacher, and Stake Missionary.
Thelma was the co-owner, with her husband, of Jewkes Office Supply in Price for 30 years. She doted on her family and made them her #1 priority. She was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and was thrilled to see the New Orleans Saints win the Superbowl.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Richard G. Jewkes, Price; two sons and two daughters, Richard (Debra) Jewkes, Salt Lake City, Robyn (Tom) Steele, Price, Steven (Natasha) Jewkes, Saratoga Springs, Utah Maria (Randy) Ostler, Spanish Fork; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jewkes, Draper, Utah; sister, Grace (Bill) Smith, Ivins, Utah; brother, Bill (Rose) Powell, St. George; sister-in-law, Elda Brinkerhoff, Grantsville, Utah; six grandchildren, Holli Stewart, Tiffany Montoya, Danae Dunn, Stan, Jackie and Kayli Jewkes; 11 great-grandchildren, Alanna, Skylor, Aimee, Takayl, Canessa, Niki, Zoey, Colston, Teagan, Camry and Makayla
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Scott Jewkes; brothers, Earl, Stan and Lyman Brinkerhoff; granddaughter, Lynnette Mae Jewkes; and great-grandson Calvin Stewart.
Funeral service, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, 12 noon, Price North LDS Stake Center, 449 North 100 East. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main, Friday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and at the Stake Center Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery.
