PRICE-Our loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, Arsenio E. Velasquez, age 79, reunited peacefully Feb. 10, 2010 with his eldest son, Rick Velasquez in Heaven.
He was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Youngsville, N.M. to Esequiel and Fortunita Valdez Velasquez. Walter shared many dear memories while being raised by Fedelina and Tobias Trujillo.
Married his beloved wife and constant companion Sarah Talamante on April 11, 1954 in Price, Utah.
Walter was a faithful member of the Spanish Assembly of God Church where he served as church secretary for 20 years and mission secretary for 10 years. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After returning from the service, Walter worked in various mines in the area prior to his retirement. He was a dedicated member of the United Mine Workers of America, Hiawatha Local #6363.
Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, making salsa and working on projects in and around his home. He loved watching ball games and wrestling, especially when cheering on his grandchildren in their sports. His favorite teams were the Cubs, Jazz and the Broncos. Walter was a very hard worker with an excellent work ethic. He was a great man, our hero and role model. He was the best husband, father and grandfather that anyone could ever have. He will always be in our hearts and thoughts. His kind spoken gestures will be dearly missed by all.
