PRICE-Hermoine Baldwin Sanderson passed away peacefully in her sleep, Feb. 15, 2010, to return home to her Heavenly Father and to be reunited with her beloved husband, Dennis Sanderson. She was born on Feb. 17, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah but grew up in Helper, Utah.
Hermoine and her mother moved to Richmond, Calif.during World War II where she reunited with Dennis and they were married on Nov. 15, 1944 while he was on leave from the Navy. After the war, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They started their family while in Utah then they later moved to California in 1951 where the two youngest sons were born.
After raising her five children, Hermoine went to college to become a teacher. She taught in the L.A. School system until retirement. After both Dennis and Hermoine retired, they moved to Oregon to spend many happy years until their final move back to their beloved Helper in 1994. Here she opened up an antique store named “Hermies”. She loved to talk to people, striking up conversations with friends and strangers alike. Gardening was also a passion as was finding treasures at garage sales and thrift stores.
Hermonie is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Bill) Mixon of Meridian, Idaho, and sons: Scott (Kim) Sanderson of Dallas, Ore., William (Cathy) Sanderson of Aurora, Colo., Guy (Shirlee) Sanderson of Park City, Utah, Daniel (Mandee) Sanderson of Camarillo, Calif., also seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dennis Sanderson.
The Sanderson family would like to express our gratitude to the Heirloom Inn in Price for their many years of wonderful and loving care given to our mother during her nine years of residence. Also a very special thank-you goes to Dr. Karen Radley and her staff for their many years of kindness and professionalism.
A graveside service was held in her honor on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at the Mountain View Cemetery at 2 p.m. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Hermoine at www.fausettmortuary.com.
