WELLINGTON-Larry LeRoy Wells, age 73, passed away Feb. 15, 2010 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. He was born in Elmo, Utah on Dec. 29, 1936 to Thomas Movell and Elga Iva Oviatt Wells.
Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery counties. He retired from Western Coal where he enjoyed serving for years as the Union President of the U.M.W.A. Local #1902. Larry took great pride in his job and he was always looking for ways to help his fellow co-workers.
Larry enjoyed camping and his favorite pastime was 4-wheeling. He was a member of CCOHVA (Carbon County Off Highway Vehicle Association) where he loved hitting the ATV trails with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by his wife, LaRae Wells, Wellington; three daughters and one son, Vicki (Mike) Peddler, Billings, Mont., Teri Lee (Tony) Kuske, Hurricane, Utah, Peggy Sue (DeVoy) Roberts, Miller Creek, Jerry Dee Wells, East Carbon; brother, Richard (Connie) Wells, Orem; sister, Ray (Donna) Davis, Wellington; sister-in-law, Maxine Wells, Price; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Larry Dee and Michael Shane Wells; and brother, Ross Wells.
Funeral service, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, 1 p.m., Wellington Fourth LDS Ward, (50 North 100 East). Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral daily.
