PRICE-Annette Lloyd Swasey passed away Feb.26, 2010 at her home in Price, Utah. Born Sept. 23, 1950, 20 minutes before her identical twin, and lifelong best friend, Jeanette. They enjoyed a childhood of sharing favorite books and riding the cows in the fields on the family’s dairy farm in Ontario, Ore.
As a teenager, Annette received treatment for scoliosis by spending a year and a half in a body cast. During this time she developed a deep love of art, poetry, and calligraphy.
Annette married Steven Alden Swasey for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 22, 1968. Their love was Steve’s constant motivation throughout his excruciating service as a marine in Viet Nam. When on night guard duty, he reminded himself that Annette might be “wishing on the same bright star”.
Annette always sought the best for her family, raising children of faith, accomplishment, and service. Both her children and grandchildren will always remember the tremendous holiday celebrations she always insisted upon.
Survived by her husband, five children, nine grandchildren, and five siblings. Preceded in death by her father Clarence Lloyd, mother Elizabeth Wilson, sister Jeanette Lloyd Moore, brother-in-law Thomas Moore, and son Matthew Lane Swasey.
Annette will be sincerely missed by the family and friends who love her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 11 a.m. at the Price LDS Third Ward Building, 500 South and 300 West. Viewing was Monday, March 1, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and will be on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Internment will be at the Valley View Memorial Cemetery, 4400 West 4100 South, Salt Lake City at 4 p.m. Friends and family may sign the guestbook and share memories of Annette at www.fausettmortuary.com.
