Gareth YuVon Young, 78, passed away Feb. 24, 2010 in Glenwood, Utah.
He was born Jan. 20, 1932 in Duchesne to Franklin A. and Florence Moulton Young. He married Paulette Wotruba Sept. 20, 1958 in Elko, Nev. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Feb. 17, 1960.
Gareth served in the navy from 1951-55. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in a variety of positions. He was a Utah Park ranger for four years
He is survived by his wife; children: Chad Von (Kathy)Young, Ohio; Ryan Franklin (Amy) Young, Oregon; Tempie Celeste Young Berry, Utah; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marden (Gwen) Young, Salt Lake City; Arlo (Betty) Young, Monroe; LaRee (David) Ross and Eda Young, both of Salt Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at 1 p.m in the Emery LDS Ward, 70 N. Center Street. Friends called at the ward chapel Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment was in the Emery Cemetery. Funeral directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
