KENILWORTH-Evelyn Ann Waddell Bales Russell, age 81, passed peacefully March 3, 2010 at Castle Country Care Center in Price.
She was born on April 21, 1928 in Mercer, Mo. to Oscar and Grace Young Waddell.
She was married to William John Bales and Everet R. Russell and they both preceded her in death.
Evelyn had a heart of gold and for years she worked as a social worker for the State of Utah. She found great joy and happiness in helping others while working for family services. Some of her fondest memories were those she shared while caring for the elderly.
She loved to keep busy and was an excellent artist and painter. She loved painting outdoor scenes and passing on her paintings to family and friends. Evelyn loved to dance, fish, play cards and she always looked forward to her Wendover trips. She will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by her children, Linda Murray, Shauna Ellis and Jeff Olinger, of Helper; Pat (Kalene) Bales, Nampa, Idaho, Kelly (Robert) Gilson, Price, Brad Bales, Duchesne, Tracy Martinez, Kenilworth; sister, Sandy (Chuck) Nelson, Kemmerer, Wyo.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kirk Bales; three brothers, Gene, Dick and Jerry Waddell.
Evelyn’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Mitchell Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to share online memories of Evelyn at mitchellfuneralhome.net
