HELPER-Our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend walks side by side with Jesus again. This valiant man after much courage and strength gave up the fight surrounded by his loving family in the mid morning of March 1, 2010.
Howard Ole Olsen was born the sixth of eight children on May 10, 1941 to Hyrum William and Ada Francis Noyes Olsen.
He was born and raised in Price later making his home on a farm in Cleveland, Utah after marrying Roanna Allred on June 30, 1962. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on Aug. 22, 1967. Howard and Roanna had three children, a boy and two girls. They raised their children around horses and rodeos. They later divorced.
Howard was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a beautiful, and strong testimony. He loved serving the Lord in many ways and he held numerous callings. Howard was always willing to give service no matter what it was. You could always count on him to help out. He was very active in genealogy, and was currently serving as a temple veil worker. Just like serving his Lord, whatever Howard did he did to perfection.
Howard was a dedicated and retired member of the U.M.W.A. Hiawatha Local #6363. He was a master of training horses, and anyone knew if you had a problem with a horse Howard could fix it. He was a true example of what a cowboy is and should be. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting or simply just taking a walk outside. Howard’s kind heart and warm humor won him numerous friends. He never forgot a face and once you shook his hand you were bound to his heart forever. Howard loved his family he took great joy in watching his children grow, and later taking a grandpa’s pride in bragging about his four grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He loved working with his sister Margie in her daycare for a few years where the children adopted him as “Uncle Howdy”. They loved him as much as he loved them. He is a man that will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Happy riding until we meet again, know we love you and will forever miss you “Howdy”!
