ELMO-Smiles Angus Oveson, age 87, passed away March 19, 2010 in Orem, Utah. She was born Jan.10, 1923 in Elmo, Utah to Joseph Raymond Angus and Mary Rosabell Ericson. She married James Lincoln Oveson on Jan. 8, 1940 in Rains, Utah.
She was a member of the LDS church and loved to crochet and farm. Smiles held a degree as a LPN and she ran the first ICU unit at Carbon Hospital and also helped open the first dialysis center in Carbon County. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her five children: Mary Jane Evans of Las Vegas, Nev., Ivina J. Oveson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Penny Arno (special friend-Laurie Bowman) of Price, Utah, Shelley (Steve) Acosta of Colorado, and Randy “Joe” (Debbie) Oveson of Elmo, Utah; 21 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Nana Beth Davis of Price, Utah, and Lois Wright of Price, Utah and Mickey Prinz of Texas.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; son, James Raymond Oveson; daughter, Nettie Josephine Bunny Anderson; granddaughter, Jamie Hassel; great-grandson, Weston; sister, Tyke Barker; and brothers, Chuck and Jerry Angus.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland City Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah). Interment will be in the Cleveland City Cemetery.
