Planning meeting
A new Forest Service Land and Resource Management Planning Rule is being introduced. A roundtable discussion will be held on April 8 at Manti-La Sal National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 599 W. Price River Drive, Price, Utah from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Each session will be identical. In addition to the roundtable meeting in Price, the Forest Service will host a national science forum, three national roundtables, eight regional roundtables and 14 roundtable meetings throughout the Intermountain Region on April 8 at each Forest Supervisor’s Office. Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser
SRJH will be holding a Dodgeball Tournament between the staff and students. This will be a fund raiser for the Emery County Relay for Life. The games will be played in the gym during the lunch hours. Relay for Life Season in Emery County
The monthly team captain meetings will be the first Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is: April 6 at 6 p.m. at the Emery County Courthouse-second floor-75 E. Main Street. Cleveland Spring Expo
Cleveland Town will be celebrating the opening of their new Fire Station on May . The Ribbon cutting will take place at 9:30 a.m. with the Cleveland Spring Expo to follow from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. You can tour the new facility and visit the vendor booths from around the state. There will be workshops, food, prizes, and entertainment throughout the day. All proceeds will benefit the Cleveland Days Fireworks Display.

Fifth Annual Baseball/Softball Camp

Raylon Harr is the three year old child who fell from a second story window on March 4 after pushing a window screen out of its frame.
Raylon has had surgery on his head to remove a blood clot from his brain and to reconstruct his skull.
It truly is a miracle that he is still with us, and that our family can continue to look forward to his growing and learning.
Our family does what we can for each other, however the bills associated with this accident will be more than what we can take care of alone.

White Wash Sand Dunes Temporary Filming Closure
The White Wash Sand Dunes open OHV area will be closed for filming for approximately one week in late May, early June 2010. The Ruby Ranch Road, as well as all the other roads and trails in the area will remain open for visitor use. For example, the roads and trails in the Crystal Geyser area will be available for motorized use, and may be used as an alternative to the White Wash Sand Dunes.

Free Resource Makes Applying for Student Financial Aid Easier
Self-guided presentation walks students through the sometimes-confusing financial aid application process. The Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority is very pleased to announce “Navigating the FAFSA,” a much-needed new resource to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (commonly called the “FAFSA”). This tool is a self-directed presentation that guides students through topics explaining the purpose of the FAFSA, how to obtain a PIN to sign their FAFSA securely online, what information should be gathered, how to complete the FAFSA, and how to submit it. Easily found on the front page of the UHEAA website, this presentation gives high school counselors and financial aid professionals another tool to help their students. CASA Volunteers Needed
Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. Power Wheelchairs
The Senior Wheels USA Program makes available power (electric) wheelchairs to senior citizens (65 years and older) and the permanently disabled at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify. Call toll free at 1-800-246-6010.
Free Wheelchairs to the Disabled
The Wheelchair Foundation, Intermountain Healthcare, and the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation are partnering to distribute free wheelchairs to disabled Utahns. Persons interested in getting a free wheelchair can call 1-877-387-3839, or apply at www.wheelchairfoundation.org/utah
Salvation Army
Donations are needed from Emery County residents to the Emery Chapter of the Salvation Army which provides emergency assistance for the people of Emery County as well as people traveling through the area. Mail donations to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, Box 281, Green River, Utah 84525 or Emery County Sheriff’s Office, Box 817, Castle Dale, Utah 84513. WWII Veterans
Seeking Officers, Enlisted Men, WACs, Cadets, Britons, Civilians and /or their families and friends who were stationed at Cochran Field, or lived in Macon, Georgia during WWII, who would be willing to contribute artifacts, photos, articles and stories pertaining to their experience with the men and women working there.
