"John Piercy"

PRICE – John Robert Piercy, age 75, passed away peacefully March 27, 2010 at his home in Price.
He was born Sept. 27, 1934 in Long Beach, Calif. to William Benton and Maxine Eleanor Simonson Piercy.
Married Joan Boyack, June 1, 1962 in Palo Alto, Calif.
“Keep a good thought” were words John was known by and some of the most comforting words we knew. John loved his home state, the era he grew up in, reading non-fiction and talking politics (he was a life long Democrat) and sports (his dad played for the Yankees and with Babe Ruth). John recently began having regular conversations with his big brother “Billy” about all these things after many years of estrangement. That relationship/friendship brought him much joy.
Something else that brought him great joy was getting out the road atlas and the AAA travel guide book and planning a good trip! His devoted wife Joan will miss the special love they shared and he will be missed by many. John would want everyone to remember to”Keep a good thought”.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Piercy, Price; son, David James Piercy, San Jose, Calif.; daughter, Dianna (Mike) Muselmann, Price; brother, Bill (Velma) Piercy, San Clemente, Calif.; five grandchildren, Melissa, Laura, Hannah, John and Conner; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents.
At John’s request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of John at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
