On Tuesday April 20, Emery hosted the only track meet of the season that would take place in Castle Dale. Twelve schools from around southern and eastern Utah attended. Besides Emery, region 12 teams Delta, Manti, Juab and North Sanpete were there. Also competing were Carbon, Gunnison, Monticello, Wayne, San Juan, Union and Altamont.
Here are the results of each event with the winner listed first and then the Emery competitors.
Boys 110 hurdles won by Cropper of Delta in 16.9. Spencer Fehlberg of Emery was third in 18.97 and Tyler Rowley of Emery was fourth in 19.0. Boys 100 meter was won by Williams of Delta in 11.59 and Scott Jackson of Emery was third in 12.34.
Boys 1600 meter was won by Howell of Manti in 4:54.1. Cort Jensen of Emery finished in 5:17, Jesse Malan of Emery in 5:18, Caleb Woolsey of Emery in 5:49, Conner Benson of Emery in 5:59. Boys 300 meter hurdles was won by Linton of Juab in 44.29. Fehlberg of Emery was second at 45.83 and Rowley was seventh in 48.42. Jesse Hunsaker of Emery finished in 56.29.
In the boys 400-meter race, Williams of Delta won in 51.95 and Scott Jackson of Emery was second in 54.19. Nathan Thompson ran the race in 59.9, Malan ran it in 1:01, Keith Bird of Emery ran it in 1:02 and Lance Sitterud of Emery ran it in 1:03.
In the boys 800-meter race, Orme of Juab won in 2:08.16. Jensen of Emery ran it in 2:20.05; Weston Allinson, Michael Nelson, Conner Benson and Randy Allen also all competed. In the 3200-meter race, Nielson of Delta won it in 11:00.35 and Jace Faucett was Emery’s lone racer. He finished in 13:42.06.
In the discus, Shurtz of Delta won with a throw of 134’8″. Clements of Emery threw it 111′; Wilcox of Emery threw it 105′. Taylor of Delta won the shot put with a throw of 42’11”. Kalin Reynolds of Emery threw it 32’9″.
Williams of Delta won the 200-meter race in 23.07. Dillon Walls of Emery ran it in 27.1. Emery finished fifth in the medley relay behind Juab.
In the girls events at the track meet, Lyon of Manti won the discus with a throw of 116’10”. Cammie Whittle of Emery threw it 68’11” and Whitney Withers of Emery threw it 68’1″. Nay of Manti won the javelin with a throw of 116’10”. Withers threw it 78’11”.
In the long jump, Anderson of Delta won with a jump of 16’8.5″. Nikki Rogers of Emery was second with a jump of 15’7″ and Hailee Rogers was third with a jump of 15’6″. Delta won the 4×100 relay in 51.39 and Emery was second in 53.13.
In the 200-meter race, Nelson of Delta was first in 28.7 with Nikki Rogers of Emery third in 29.4 and Hailee Rogers fifth in 30.01. Barbie Powell of Emery ran it in 31.3 and Tennyson Fauver of Emery ran it 32.63. In the 300-meter hurdles, Nelson of Delta won in 48.2. Blayr Jeffs of Emery ran it in 52.36 and D’Lee Gardner of Emery ran it in 56.92.
Cook of Delta won the 400-meter race in 1:00.8. Anna Turner of Emery ran it 1:12.5, Keyara Elliot of Emery ran it in 1:17.9 and Melanie Frisbee of Emery ran it in 1:23.3. Diaz of Delta won the 100 hurdles in 17.48 with Jeffs of Emery finishing in 18.47. Morgan Thompson of Emery ran it in 25.3.
In the 100-meter race, Cook of Delta won it in 13.34. Jeffs of Emery finished third in 13.55 and Nikki Rogers was fourth in 13.69. Hailee Rogers of Emery finished in 14.17, Barbie Powell of Emery in 14.78. In the 1600-meter race, Randall of Monticello ran a 5:59.5 with Jacee Bird of Emery finishing in 6:25.8. Tiffany Funk ran it in 7:02.6
In the 800-meter race, Jewkes of Carbon won in 2:36.3. Kim Oldroyd was Emery’s best finisher in 2:47.4 and Davi Bosshardt ran it in 3:40.7.
