PRICE-Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Deloris Mae Thomas Westfahl Skerl, age 83, passed away May 11, 2010 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born Sept. 21, 1926 in Cresent City, Calif. to Charles and Alma Tichner Thomas.
Deloris was raised in Meeker and Grand Junction, Colo. She left high school to work at Hill Field during WWII in the transportation department driving large trucks until the war was over. She met and married Roger Westfahl in Okeene, Okla. in 1947, he died in 1971. On March 25, 1972 she married Henry Skerl.
During her long working life she held many jobs and titles, from Appliance Store, Valley Ford, Price Trading, Co., to Utah Power and Light. She took great pride in making sure her work was correct and on time. She enjoyed landscape painting at Marie Faussett Studio for many years and was always ready for a road trip.
Survived by her husband, Henry Skerl; three stepsons, Andy, Perry, and Joe Skerl; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Vonnie Offerly, Jean Kinder, and Mary Stack.
Preceded in death by her parents; children, Alma Lee, and Al; sisters, Elenore Wagner, and Laura Kinnamon.
At Deloris’ wishes a private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends and family can share memories of Deloris online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
