HELPER-Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Alfonzo Ybarra, age 63, was greeted into heaven by his parents and grandson Christopher on May 17, 2010 after a progressive illness.
He was born Jan. 4, 1947 in Price, Utah to Pete and Socorrita Duran Ybarra.
Married Gloria M. Baca on Feb. 8, 1967.
Alfonzo served in the Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his return he graduated from Salt Lake Community College and eventually went to work at Union Pacific Railroad where he was a boilermaker-welder for 25 years at the Salt Lake Diesel Shop.
Alfonzo was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He also painted, did metal and wood work. His greatest love was his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ybarra, Helper; children, Vince (Valerie) Ybarra, Salt Lake City; Christina Ybarra, Wellington; Toby (Quinten), St. George; brother, Peter (Sherrie) Aperges, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Sara Crabtree, Erin Edgar-Ybarra, both of Salt Lake City, Andrew Ybarra, Salt Lake City; Maxwell, Samantha, Joel, Raychel Briseno, all of Layton, Anthony and Andrea, both of Salt Lake City; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Dialysis Center for their excellent loving care.
At Alfonzo’s request there will be no memorial service. The family asks all friends and family to rejoice and remember the special memories that he left for us.
