Preston LeRay Huntington, age 82, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on June 17, 2010. He was born on March 9, 1928 in Castle Dale, Utah. He was the oldest child of Preston Mitchel and Bertie Petty Huntington. He graduated from South Emery High School and from the College of Eastern Utah in auto mechanics. He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II and during the Korean Conflict for two years. He attended Utah Technical College in Provo and this is where he met the love of his life Joan Money. They were married June 1, 1954 in the Manti Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served three missions in his lifetime. At the age of 19, he served a mission to the Great Lakes. Then later together with his wife, they served missions in Phoenix, Ariz. and Nauvoo Restoration, Illinois. He became a Ford dealer and owned and operated Huntington Tractor and Implement in Orangeville, Utah.
LeRay is survived by his wife Joan and his children David (JaNae) of Santa Clara, Doug (Sandra) of Orangeville, Paul (Joleen) of Orangeville, and Marsha (Steven) Baker of Pinedale, Wyo., 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, his brothers Ted and Ward, and his sisters Louise Johnson and Irene Chappell. He is preceded in death by his parents Preston and Bertie Huntington, and two brothers LeGrand and Glen.
Friends called for a visitation Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, 620 N. Main in Huntington. Funeral services were be held at the Orangeville First Ward Chapel on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. with a viewing at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment followed in the Orangeville City Cemetery with Military Honors from the Orangeville American Legion Post.
