HELPER-Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and longtime friend, Edith Massa Stavar, age 85, passed away peacefully July 6, 2010.
She was born April 9, 1925 in Helper, Utah to Louis and Mary Vaira Massa.
Married Karl John Stavar, Nov. 27, 1945 in Castle Dale, Utah.
Edith was a compassionate person who loved her pets and people, especially her “Sweetie” Karl of 65 years. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Survived by her husband, Karl Stavar, Helper; daughter, Karla Jean (Robert) Hatch, Bountiful; two grandchildren, Kim (Matt) Cook, Endwell, N.Y., Justin (Holly) Hatch, Moran, La.; five great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kennedy, Kearsten, Kamryn and Morgan.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, Louis Jr., and Frank; two sisters, Jennie and Louise.
Funeral Mass, Friday, July 9, 2010, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. Vigil service, Thursday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home.
