PRICE-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, companion, sister-in-law, and dear friend, Rose Helen Montoya Doporto, age 61, passed away July 12, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 14, 1949 in Provo, Utah to Antonio C. and Stella Perea Montoya.
Married Melchor Doporto Jr., Nov. 25, 1967 in East Carbon, Utah; he died May 8, 1997.
Rose was a longtime resident of Carbon County where she graduated from East Carbon High School in 1966. She devoted her life to the care of others and for years she enjoyed working as an activity aide at Castle Country Care Center.
Rose enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens, singing, and cooking. Rose will always be remembered for her warming personality and her famous lipstick and fingernails.
Survived by her mother, Stella Montoya, Price; children, Rene (Drew) Crowe, Price; Dana (Dreu) Staheli, Hurricane, Melchor Doporto III, Price; Mary Nicole Doporto, Price; sister, Glenda Montoya, Price; brother, Michael Lynn Montoya, San Jose, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her father, husband, and son, Tony Ray.
Funeral service, Friday, July 16, 2010, 10 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and can share memories of Rose at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
