A Price motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a car on SR 10 about 10 miles south of Price Tuesday morning. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Levi Oman identified the victim as 68-year-old Glenn Silvis.
The trooper said preliminary indications are that Silvis was southbound shortly before 11 a.m. when a northbound Mazda sedan driven by 27-year-old Jeremy Hunt of Ferron crossed lanes and collided with the motorcycle. Impact occurred on the right front of the car. Oman said the cause of the lane crossover is still under investigation.
UHP closed the highway for about three hours to mark and measure the evidence, which was scattered across both lanes and both shoulders. Troopers used a crane to get elevated pictures of the debris and skid marks to map the scene for investigation. Traffic was diverted through the Miller Creek area south of Price between Ridge Road and the Cleveland-Elmo intersection.
Trooper Oman said an Emery County ambulance transported Hunt to Castleview Hospital in Price for treatment of apparent wrist injuries.
