Mildred Fern Gross Robinson, age 85, slipped peacefully away to join her mother, father, husband, and son on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at the Parkdale Care Center in Price.
She was born Nov. 26, 1924 in DuQuoin, Ill. to Clyde and Bessie Tilled Gross.
Married William “Red” Robinson, March 13, 1943 in Perryville, Mo.and later moved to Dragerton, Utah where they raised a family, worked and lived through retirement.
Millie’s first job in Utah was at the Woodside Geyser where she greeted many tourists. After it stopped erupting and closed she went to work as a cashier at the Dragerton Department Store where she became acquainted with most, if not all, of the residents of Dragerton. Millie was a loyal employee at the department store until it closed.
When not working she loved to bowl and was known for numerous high score games that carried the team to many championships. Millie was a faithful member of the East Carbon Community Church. She encouraged and watched her four daughters and two sons attend weekly services, and later she influenced grandchildren to attend. Her faith played a major role in her life. After retiring Millie loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a strong, caring, and generous person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survived by five children, Bill (Bonnie) Robinson, Federal Way, Wash.; Claudia (Bill) Krissman, San Jose, Calif.; Christy Wright, Grand Junction, Colo.; Carla (Jim) Gallegos, Price; Sally (Walter) Lewis, Herriman; 12 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bessie Gross; husband, William; son, Clyde Lee Robinson; three brothers, Gene, June, and Ray Gross; sister, Theo Williams.
Funeral service, Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, 1 p.m., East Carbon Community Church in East Carbon. Services will be officiated by Rev. Bill Wright. Family will gather at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and at the church in East Carbon Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Price City Cemetery.
Millie spent several years caring for her husband who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o of Mitchell Funeral Home.
