PRICE-Surrounded by family, Chris John Diamanti passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2010 at the age of 92.
He was the last surviving child of 10 born to John and Afthemia Agureda Diamanti on Dec. 8, 1917 in Helper, Utah.
Chris happily lived his whole life in Carbon County where he graduated from Carbon High School in 1936. He later went on to work in the coal mining industry for 35 years where he owned and operated Carbon Fuel Mines with his brothers.
He married Margaret Winkelreid, Oct. 28, 1945 and celebrated life together with her for 62 years before her passing in 2008.
Chris could be found most days at work in his garden- among the tomato plants or tending to the roses. He disagreed with Walt Disney and thought the happiest place on earth just might be Joe’s Valley where he built and enjoyed a cabin.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristen (Ralph) Taylor, Karen (Deon) Kone; and granddaughter, Nicolle (David) Jacobs.
Chris was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, eight brothers and one sister.
